I am wondering which newspapers/magazines you would suggest me to read that would allow me to obtain different - but credible - opinions about the world. I read quite often the Economist, the NY Times and watch CNN, and I am pretty satisfied with those. Maybe some newspapers outside north america would be what i am looking for. Finally, I can read English, Portuguese and Spanish, so any online newspaper in those languages would be a good suggestion. PS: Please, don't suggest Fox News (or should I say Fake News). No fanatical news!

I can pick from 9 different languages which are: Arabic, French, Portuguese, Latin, German, Italian, Chinese (mandarin), greek, and russian. Also I cant decide on a minor. I pursue law school. So I could do the minor in criminal justice?? But at the same time I could do the minor in primary education and find myself a part-time job while I do law school. I really don't know what I could do my masters on with a major in English Literature. Thanks in advance. Your opinion will be appreciated! :D

I was a kid in Europe and did not talk the language but I loved this tune! every I know it was a lady singing, it was noisy and quick paced and it came to a quick cease at certain parts with a 'crrr" sound in it. I remember one word from the refrain and it was "bandiro" or bambino" or "bandito" or something close to that. I will be shocked if someone actually gets this but please try..its killing me lol
I wanna learn Portuguese
I have 4 semesters left of College and I really want to pick up another language. I'm contemplating between Russian and Portuguese but I really need some help. What do you think would be more beneficial? I'm close fluent in French and at an intermediate level in Spanish. I know Portuguese would probably be easier and it's probably easier, but I would like to hear from people who have experience with both or even any insight would be great. Which do you think I could accomplish more with in 4 semesters? I plan on being either a Flight attendant, teacher, or translator. Thank you!
I already talk some Spanish, I would also like to learn Portuguese will this work? btw I'm 16
Portuguese is my mom tongue and I'm fluent in English, so I'd like to improve my French.
I want to learn portuguese or spanish in exchange for english, I dont know if anybody knows about a website like this?
As portuguese is the main language of Brazil (with spanish more commonly spoken around the borders of Brazil), and the schools teaching Spanish as a required second language (both of which are considered "romance languages"), would someone from Brazil be considered Latin? I heard that generally if a person is from a country where the language primarily spoken (in this case Portuguese and/or Spanish) is a romance language, he/she would be considered latin. Im wondering because my bf, who is Brazillian. I am Canadian, and we both reside in Canada. He has a noticeably darker skin tone than I (what I like to call "golden"...it's beautiful!), and dark brown hair. Not that it's a problem at every (he's a wonderful, wonderful guy, and THE most handsome guy I have ever met), but many people (in Canada) that have met him have said he must be Hispanic or Latin. Anyway, I was just wondering for curiosity. I adore that he is Brazilian, as we can always learn from each other culturally, actually. I have been to Brazil, and I think the land & it's people are very beautiful.

Learning foreign languages is an interesting, valuable and mind-opening experience that gives great potential for your future. Portuguese is one of the most spoken languages around the world and more ...
I understand that it takes everyone different time lengths to learn different things, but I am really interested in learning another lanugage. I am 18 years old and I only talk English right now. I am planning on taking classes and getting a tutor, along with hopefully penpals to practice language with. How long, on average, do you think it would take someone in my situation to learn the following three languages (not fluently, but enough to be a part of a solid conversation?) - Brazilian Portuguese - Spanish - Arabic
Which one is more important? Wouldn't it be better to pick portuguese over french since their are more portuguese native speakers than french? i have expressed an interest in learning portuguese because my grandparents came here from brazil but i was never taught portuguese. I dont know, what language do you think is best for me to learn?
I'm learning two languages: Brazilian Portuguese and German Where can I go to practice these? I already know about Livemocha.com and Sharedtalk.com.
I have heard and read a lot about such places as Panama, Ecuador, and Mexico, but I am having a difficult time deciding which one is best suited towards my personal criteria. Below, I have listed my criteria and value weighted each one from one to ten with one being not important and 10 being VERY important. 1) Weather-hot (at least 80 every day)-minimal to moderate rain- 10 pts. 2) Health Care-cheap and reliable-10 pts. 3) Real Estate-affordable, preferrably cheap-8 pts. 4) Crime-the lower the better-8 pts. 5) Close to the beach-should be within a one hour steer-8pts 6) Infrastructure-7 pts. 7) Close to a major city-in or close a big city preferrable-7 pts. 8) In a community setting. Would adore to mingle-6 pts. 9) Language- English or Spanish. Will consider French or Portuguese if conditions right-6 pts. 10) Special benefits for retirees-4 pts. 11) Proximity to the U.S.-would be nice, but not a must-4 pts. No matter what we decide, we plan on visiting first for at least 2 weeks, and renting for at least 6 months before making any permanent decisions.
So i got my progress report back and my teacher which i hate so much gave me an F. I got D first cycle C on Midterm F in second Cycle. If i fail language arts do colleges really care about it? I'm really getting stress off of this because i receive A's and B's in everything else except language class because i find it difficult to learn any other language, and my teacher is bad. (45% of the class failed.)
The current language seems to be Portuguese

Well I have the gift of knowing 3 languages pretty fluently and was considering becoming a translator. I was wondering if someone who actually is one could answer a few questions, they are as follow: #1 Do translators earn well (I know money isn't everything but it's pretty important) #2 Which are the most sought after languages, I know German, Portuguese and English, which one would be the best? #3 How is your work routine, do you go to an office or does the agency just send you papers and you send them back? #4 How is the "translator" course called in college, I've never heard of it to be honest. Also is it a good idea to complete the course or isn't it as important as in other professions (I believe it is) #5 Anything else that is important that I should know about? : ) Thanks.

'm 13 years old and talk English as my native language. I have always loved languages and have been very good at them. I currently talk ok Spanish, but it is much easier to understand people. I also talk/understand Greek pretty well as I take classes and my dad speaks Greek. I really want to talk another language and am up for a challenge. I know that it is easier to learn languages when you are younger so I am trying to learn more now. I want to learn a somewhat useful language. I was thinking German, Italian, French, Portuguese, or possibly Korean. German wouldn't be that difficult because I'm used to the three genders because Greek has them too. Italian, French, and Portuguese are like Spanish so they would be somewhat easier. Also, my mom speaks fluent Italian so she would be a great help with that. Korean would be the real challenge language, but I'm willing to try.I also know that Korean uses an alphabet in the same way that we do, but I still find it difficult to read. I'm open to new suggestions, if you have any information about other languages.
Hello, I am working on a cultural diversity poster project, and for my project, I will have the phrase "we are one" in many different languages. I am concerned that if I use an online translator, I will not receive accurate translations. Please, if you are fluent in any languages other than english, can you give me an accurate translation of this phrase? I already have some translations which I believe are correct, but if anyone could also please let me know if there are any mistakes, that would be much appreciated: Spanish: Nosotros somos uno Portuguese: Nós Somos Um Finnish: olemme yksi Italian: Siamo un German: Wir sind ein Swedish: Vi är en Polish: Jesteśmy jednym Dutch: Wij zijn één I am looking for any languages whatsoever, but preferably those using a western alphabet. Thank you. I also have: Icelandic: Við erum eitt Welsh: ein bod yn un Swahili: sisi ni moja I don't know if these are correct. I've gotten a few conflicting french translations, but is this correct? French: nous avons un ans
Just curious. Tell me a little bit about it! Native language: English (American) Secondary languages: Spanish, French, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese. ...
I was born in the USA and spoke Portuguese as my first language. Once I started school, they said I had trouble making friends or didn't talk a lot and thought it was because my parents didn't talk English much at home (I'm just an introvert =X). So my parents started speaking English a lot after that and I guess that I did actually start talking to more kids then. What bothers is me that I can't talk portuguese anymore. I'm 16 now and I'm guessing I was 4ish when I lost it. I can still pick up what people are talking about in portuguese, but I don't know the grammar or vocab enough to talk it myself. Would my native language be portuguese or english?

I also have the possibility of moving to England. However, Portuguese is my mom tongue and I'm fluent in English, so I'd like to improve my French.
Hi. I'm Brazilian and I'll learn you how to talk the most beautiful language of the world: it's Brazilian Portuguese. So, let's learn: apple: maçã ball: bola blossom: flor cat: gato dog: cachorro tree: árvore cloth: roupa hair: cabelo computer: computador Brazilian: brasileiro NÚMEROS (NUMBERS): 0 - zero 1 - um 2 - dois 3 - três 4 - quatro 5 - cinco 6 - seis 7 - sete 8 - oito 9 - nove FRASES (PHRASES): Brazil is wonderful. > O Brasil é lindo. I'd like to visit Brazil. Everybody loves this country. > Eu gostaria de conhecer o Brasil. Todos amam este país. Brazil is a uncomparable country. > O Brasil é um país incomparável. Portuguese language is as beautiful as Brazil > A língua portuguesa é tão bonita quanto o Brasil. (U.S. and English language are beautiful too) I wish you've like. Thanks.

please tell me the equivalent of (I adore YOU) in different languages.like spanish.portuguese, german and other nations you are from.
Lately I've really been wanting to learn a second language. I've narrowed my choices down to three: Spanish (would arrive in handy as I live in California), Portuguese (I am half Portuguese and my mom is fluent in both English and Portuguese) or German (there are several German foreign exchange students at my school who could help me). Which one would you recommend studying? Is there another which might be simpler to learn? Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
I want to work in the financial sector (to help clean up the mess :)), but most MBA programs require 3-4 years of "quality" work experience. I'm not sure I'm going to achieve that, at least not for a long time, with a Political Science degree from a regional school during a recession. I'd like to go to Europe and receive an MSc in Finance from a school like Instituto de Empresa in Spain or LSE/Oxford/Imperial in the UK, work in that sector, then receive an MBA later on to move into management. These schools are highly regarded in the Financial Times rankings. I'm concerned: Will I be "underemployed" in the U.S. by employers who don't pay attention to what happens outside their possess country (let alone what European schools have to offer)? If so, do you think I'd have a better bet getting a job in China or Latin America with a European MSc? (I talk Spanish and some Portuguese but am good with languages so learning Chinese should take 2 years at most, so language should not be a concern)
Haha, I've always loved the language. I talk fluent Portuguese, I know that helps, but approximately how long will it take to learn the language and talk fluent Spanish?
I am currently on Portuguese 2, lesson 12 out of 19. I feel like while I do recognize a lot of words I still can't really talk with much confidence. What level is Rosetta rock supposed to bring you to and what can I do after Rosetta rock to expand my abilities?
When Orange is split half - half you find most of the time 6 pieces on one side and 5 pieces on the other side. The word "orange" is derived from the Sanskrit word narang or from the Tamil language. The orange fruit has 11 pieces inside and in Tamil, the word "Orangu" translates to "6 and 5" implying 11. "Oranges originated in Asia thousands of years ago. They were grown in the region from southern China to Indonesia from where they spread to India. Oranges were not cultivated in the Middle East until sometime around the 9th century. Oranges were introduced into Europe around the 15th century by the Moors, the Portuguese as well as Italian traders". http://www.copperwiki.org/index.php/Orange
